A Note on Navajo
Navajo is the most widely spoken Indigenous language in the United States, and Northern Arizona is home to one of the largest Navajo-speaking communities in the country. Learning Navajo at CCC is both a practical skill and an act of cultural preservation, and CCC is one of very few colleges in the region where you can earn transferable credit for Navajo language study. Starting in 2026-2027, Navajo language courses also fulfill the new AGEC Oral Communication requirement, making them a meaningful and practical choice for any student.
Transfer Options
CCC’s modern language courses are part of the Written and Oral Communication block of your Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC), the set of foundational courses that every Arizona public university requires for a bachelor’s degree. That means the language courses you take at CCC count toward your degree here and follow you when you transfer, regardless of your major.
