District Governing Board
Coconino Community College is governed by a five-member District Governing Board. Board members are elected officials representing districts throughout Coconino County. Board positions are unpaid volunteer roles, with members serving six-year terms. Each member’s district covers the same geographical area as those of the Coconino County Board of Supervisors.

Role of the board
The District Governing Board is responsible for setting the institutional direction of Coconino Community College while leaving day-to-day operations to the President and CEO.
Specifically, the Board:
- Determines the mission and sets strategic goals for the college
- Adopts policies to govern the college and its programs
- Reviews and approves the college’s annual budget
- Selects, evaluates, and appoints the President and CEO
- Ensures CCC meets the educational needs of Coconino County residents
- Ensures CCC fulfills its legal and procedural requirements as a public institution
The Board does not manage day-to-day operations of the college. Specific operational decisions are made by the President and the administration. Specific complaints or grievances are handled through established college procedures, not by the Board directly.
Board Meetings
The District Governing Board meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 5:45 p.m. in the Board Room at the Lone Tree Campus, 2800 S. Lone Tree Road, Flagstaff, AZ 86005, unless otherwise noted. Times and locations are subject to change. Check this page for the latest updates.
Board meetings are open to the public except portions held in executive session.
Agendas are posted electronically no less than 24 hours before each meeting.
Minutes are posted as a courtesy to the public after they have been approved at the next regular Board meeting. Minutes may not be approved at special meetings or work sessions. Draft copies of minutes or a recording of District Governing Board meetings are available three business days after each meeting per A.R.S. § 38-438-D.

Public Comment
The public is welcome to attend all Board meetings. Members of the public may submit written comment up to two hours prior to a scheduled meeting by emailing president@coconino.edu or leaving a voicemail at 928-226-4217.
At meetings, public comment is limited to two minutes per speaker. Unless comment relates to a specific agenda item, Board action is limited to directing staff to study and/or schedule the matter for future consideration.

Pursuant to A.R.S. 38-431.02, a courtesy notice is hereby given that a majority of the District Governing Board members may attend the following social events or meetings: state, county, and local organizations’ meetings, fundraisers and other events, CCC commencement ceremonies and celebrations, CCC sporting events, CCC Foundation fundraising, and other potential community events.
