CCC’s Administration of Justice program prepares students to enter careers in law enforcement, corrections, and the broader criminal justice system. Through coursework in criminal law, police functions, corrections, criminology, community relations, and constitutional law, you will develop the foundational knowledge and communication skills expected of criminal justice professionals. The program emphasizes understanding the structure of the justice system, cultural competency, and ethical decision-making in diverse communities. 

Courses are offered in a rotating sequence each semester, so you can begin the program at any point in the year. A mix of in-person and online options accommodates working adults, students in rural and tribal areas, and those already employed in public safety roles. 

The CCC Basic Detention Academy provides entry-level training for newly hired detention and corrections officers, meeting the standards of the Arizona Detention Association. The program covers detention operations, ethics and professionalism, law, custody and control, conflict and crisis management, defensive tactics, report writing, and medical and mental health issues. Completion of the academy meets the training requirements of the Coconino County Sheriff’s Department for employment as a Detention Officer. 

The Basic Detention Academy provides entry-level training for newly hired detention and corrections officers, meeting Arizona Detention Association standards. The program is completed through a single intensive course and can be applied toward the Administration of Justice Associate of Applied Science degree.
